Privacy Policy

Privacy-First Approach

RankTracker Pro is built with privacy as the core principle. We believe your data belongs to you, and you alone.

Data Storage

All your ranking data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB.

  • Project information (name, URL)
  • Keywords you're tracking
  • Position check history
  • All timestamps and notes

None of this data is ever transmitted to our servers. Everything stays on your device.

What We Don't Collect

  • No personal information (name, email, phone)
  • No tracking cookies
  • No analytics or usage statistics
  • No IP addresses
  • No account data (because there are no accounts!)

Optional Ahrefs API Integration

If you choose to use the Ahrefs API integration for automated position checking:

  • Your API key is stored only in your browser (localStorage)
  • API requests are made directly from your browser to Ahrefs
  • We never see or store your API key on our servers
  • Ahrefs' own privacy policy applies to data sent to their API

Data Portability

You have full control over your data:

  • Export all your data as CSV or JSON anytime
  • Delete individual projects, keywords, or position checks
  • Clear all data by clearing your browser storage

Sharing Features

When you use the "Share Project" feature:

  • Your project data is encoded in the URL itself
  • No data is uploaded to our servers
  • The recipient gets a read-only view from the URL data

Browser Compatibility

This application requires IndexedDB support, which is available in all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). If IndexedDB is not available, the application will notify you.

Changes to This Policy

Since we don't collect any data, there's very little that could change. However, if we ever introduce features that process data differently, we'll update this page accordingly.

Questions?

If you have any questions about how your data is handled, feel free to review the open-source code or contact us through our GitHub repository.

In Summary:

Your ranking data never leaves your browser. We don't have access to it, we don't want access to it, and we've designed the entire application to ensure your privacy is protected.
